Miss Fisher's National Trust imageMiss Fisher's National Trust

Beautiful locations are proving to be one of the hallmarks of Miss Fisher’s Murder Mysteries, thanks in part to the generous support of the National Trust, Victoria.
Cast and crew have been treated to days on set at Labassa, Rippon Lea and Como House, all National Trust properties and examples of Melbourne’s finest stately architecture.
Rippon Lea serves as the perfect setting for the Cocaine Blues soiree in which Phryne dances the tango with the delectable Sasha de Lisse – scandalising her stuffy Aunt Prudence, played by Miriam Margolyes (Harry Potter, Babe).

May 2011 - Phryne Extras casting! imageMay 2011 - Phryne Extras casting!

We are excited to announce an opportunity for Phryne fans to get involved in the production.
We are looking for people interested in working as extras on the series, which is set in 1920s Melbourne.
Our casting department is looking for men and women over the age of 18. Of course, the ‘look’ of the 1920s is a world away from 2011, so we would not be able to cast anyone with gel nails, any obvious hair colouring or hair extensions, any visible tattoos or piercings or fake tans. Men would have to be prepared to have their hair cut in the period style.
If you are interested in working as an extra please email gow.martine@abc.net.au with your full name, age, contact details, measurements (chest, waist, hips, shoe) and two photos of yourself (a head shot and a full body shot).
Become a Facebook friend of Miss Fisher’s Murder Mysteries or see here for any updates and upcoming Phryne news!

December 2010 - Screen Australia backs Phryne

Screen Australia has announced a significant investment in the The Phryne Fisher Murder Mystery Series, our 13 x one-hour murder mystery series based on the novels of Australian author Kerry Greenwood. The Phryne Fisher Murder Mystery Series will go into production in mid-2011. Fiona Eagger and Deb Cox are producing and Tony Tilse will direct.  Phryne Fisher is a lady sleuth who sashays through the back lanes and jazz clubs of late 1920s Melbourne, fighting injustice with her pearl-handled pistol and her dagger-sharp wit. Leaving a trail of admirers in her wake, our thoroughly modern heroine makes sure she enjoys every moment of her lucky life.
